"We are very pleased to announce our endorsement of Barb Shelton for State Representative in House District 64," said Mike Berkowitz, Political Director for the Sierra Club Michigan Chapter. "We are confident that she will win her race, and will fight for Michigan’s environment, for our families and for our future."
"We pledge to do all we can to help ensure Ms. Shelton is elected because she is an environmental champion," concluded Mark Muhich, a Sierra Club activist from Jackson. "We will make sure that our members know she is the best environmentalist in this race.”

State House Candidate, Barb Shelton will work for us, not Lobbyists and special interests

We the people are facing turbulent times as a result of past complacent, inept and incompetent leadership.
Government shouldn't balance a budget on the backs of our seniors, middle class and those who are least able to have a voice in this great democracy of ours, while big corporations get tax breaks at our expense.
Barb Shelton has a vision for a stronger Michigan where everyone has the opportunity to prosper, not just the 1 percent. She understands she works for you, not some lobbyist or special interest.
We the people of Michigan need to ask ourselves: Do we want a government that is responsive and accountable to us or big corporations and their elite friends? Barb Shelton will be an active voice for the people of Michigan.I strongly support Barb Shelton for the 64th District of Michigan

Rep. Earl Poleski took much away from public schools, gives little back

Rep. Earl Poleski failed to point out his devastating vote to slash funding for our kids’ schools by nearly $1 billion, just to help pay for a $1.8 billion tax break for corporate special interests. This clear fact cannot be ignored, even by Poleski and his political cronies in Lansing. (Related story: Rep. Earl Poleski: Something must be done to reform school district pension costs)

For Jackson Public Schools, Poleski’s vote meant more than $1 million in lost funding. After this devastating cut, the miniscule amount that Poleski and other politicians put back into schools this election year does little to soften the blow.

We can’t continue to take dollars away from our kids’ schools to fund tax breaks for rich CEOs without the promise of a single new job. Strong schools are the key to a successful state where businesses are hiring, home prices are stable and families thrive. We must restore all of the funding that Poleski and others took from our schools.
